Religious Agenda in Public Schools

If you were infuritated by all the liberal indoctrination in our public schools, as video after video was exposed of children singing praises to President Obama (an eerily similar scene to clips of the Hitler Youth in Germany), wait until you read this from Atlas Shrugs:

Public School Second Graders Sing About Allah?

"This is incredible. Children praying to a religion not their own -- obscene. The laughable quote is that the parents who objected were called 'islamophobes' by Shariq Siddiqui of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. 'It’s unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings.'

If I had been a Christian parent at this school, I would have gone ballistic.

Advancing colonization.

Second Graders Sing About Allah?

'A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted second graders to sing a song declaring, “Allah is God.” The phrase was removed just before the performance after a national conservative group launched a protest.

The principal of Lantern Road Elementary School in Fishers, IN, said they were trying to teach inclusiveness through their holiday production. It included references to Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. However, no other deity, other than Allah, was referenced in the show.

“It went off…without a hitch,” Danielle Thompson told the Indianapolis Star. “Several families thought it was a nice program.”

But others did not – especially David Hogan. His daughter came home with a copy of the lyrics just days before the production. Hogan, a Christian, told the American Family Association, a conservative advocacy group, that he was deeply concerned to learn that his daughter had been singing, “Allah is God.”

Here’s what the children were assigned to sing:

Allah is God, we recall at dawn,
Praying ‘til night during Ramadan
At this joyful time we pray happiness for you,
Allah be with you all your life through
.”

But when it came time to perform the “Christian” part of Christmas, children were assigned to say:

“I didn’t know there was a little boy at the manger. What child is this?
I’m not sure if there was a little boy or not.
Then why did you paint one on your nativity window?
I just thought if there was a little boy, I’d like to know exactly what he (sic) say
.

Micah Clark, executive director of the Indiana AFA, launched an Internet protest once he heard about the allegations. “What surprised me here is that we’ve had a secular scrubbing of Christmas for so long and the school apparently didn’t see the problem with kids singing to Allah,” he told FOX News Radio. “You won’t even mention Jesus and you’re going to force my child to sing about Allah?

In email correspondence the school initially defended the reference as a way to be inclusive of all religions. However, once complaints starting rolling in, school leaders decided to eliminate the Allah reference.

That drew the ire of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. “It’s unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings,” Shariq Siddiqui told the Indianapolis Star. “Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions.”
But Clark said having children bow and pray is problematic for non-Muslim families. “(This show) affirmed Islam and negated Christianity. I wouldn’t have had a problem if it had been equal to all faiths.”

At least one Christian family approved of the Allah reference. “I’m a Christian and I was in no way offended by the program at Lantern Road,” said Judy Grasso to The Star
.'

There's a dhimmi in every crowd."

My blood is boiling, and I do not even have a child in this school. Why the kowtowing to the Muslims and the censure of Christianity in Christian America? The public schools are nothing more than indoctrination centers for whatever liberal agenda the Left is attempting to propagate.

Then, we have this little gem from Hot Air:

Great moments in Christmas: School says Jesus on cross “violent image”

"One eight-year-old in Taunton just learned a valuable lesson in political correctness, and a school district may wind up learning a little something about free speech, religious expression, and not asking questions to which one does not want to hear the answers. An elementary school student was asked to draw something that reminded him of Christmas. When he drew a picture of Jesus on a crucifix, the teacher and the administration recoiled in horror at the 'violent image.' No, really:

'An eight year old elementary school student in Taunton was sent home from school and required to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing a stick figure picture of Jesus on the cross.

The second grader at Maxham Elementary school was told by this teacher that the drawing was violent. This was after the class was asked to sketch something that reminded them of Christmas. …

The father tells the “Taunton Gazette” because his son put Xs on the eyes of Jesus, the teacher thought it was violent
.'

But he drew Jesus with a smile! Doesn’t that count for anything?

It’s hard to imagine a more clueless, knee-jerk response than the one given by this school. First, Jesus on a crucifix has been a symbol of Christianity for two millenia. Since Christmas is in fact a Christian holiday, at least nominally, the crucifix in this drawing clearly came from Christian symbolism and not some latent threat of a reenactment of the last scenes of Spartacus from a second grader. How dense or deliberately obtuse must a teacher and administrators be not to understand the symbolism involved in this drawing?

The story does end on a happy note. The father of the student has been given permission for his child to attend another school in the district. They should have transferred the teacher and the administrators instead, preferably to quiet rooms with as little contact with children as possible. The real threat here is that the gross stupidity will infect the students."

You DO realize that the God that Muslims pray to is the God of Abraham, the same God that Jews and Christians pray to? And that "Allah" isn't His name, but merely the Arabic word for "God"? Like "God" is called "Yahweh" in the Old Testament?

Take a deep breath and another dose of your hypertension medication. The world isn't going to come to an end because some little kids said "Allah" in a second grade concert. (Of course, not; "we" know that the end will come, shortly, with The Rapture. Now THAT is crazy talk!)

Allah is not God, plain and simple. The family calling itself "Christian" would know that, I hope, and could see the problem of singing the lyric. Second, of course Jesus on the cross is violent. The Roman soldiers drove nails through His hands and feet! He died a horrible brutal death, and that is exactly what I teach my kids because that's how the Bible teaches it. This country is lost...

No, Diogenes, we do not share the same God with the Muslims. Abraham is the father of both the Jews and Muslim, but it stops there.

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." The Muslims do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Therefore, they worship a false god.

Besides, Jesus and allah are quite different in their nature. Jesus said to love your enemies. allah says to kill them.

You think the Rapture is "crazy talk"? No true Christian denies the Rapture; it is our hope for the future.

BTW, my blood pressure is on the low side, always has been. If I took hypertension medication, I'd be dead. You're not so blessed for that to happen. God is not finished with me yet.

Dio is no Christian by any stretch of the imagination, so why would anybody consider her opinion when it comes to religion?

Diogenes is a male. But, you're right, he's not a Christian, though he thinks he is. No Christian would mock the Rapture.

I mock the concept of the Rapture as practiced by Religious Rightwingnuts. I mock the concept of "christianity" as practiced by Religious Rightwingnuts. It's a horrible Xerox copy made in BizarroWorld. THAT is worth mocking.

And anyone that can't even reocgnize that "Allah" is merely the Arabic word for "God" is incredibly, dangerously misinformed.

As for the Muslims worshipping a "false God" I disagree. I don't believe that their concept and path is correct, but it's not all that much more incorrect than, say, the Jews. Jews don't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, either, but I don't see you codemning them for worshipping a "false god". In fact, I see you repeatedly using THEIR concept of God in a misbegotten attempt to steer Americna foreign policy!

Holy roller Bible-thumpers like you all will far more likely cause the destruction of America, if you're left to your own devices. Luckily, there's a hell of a lot more of us than there are of you. SO just keep a'praying that the Rapture happens tomorrow and you're vindicated. I'm not holding my breath... there's been little, if anything, else you've been right about.

"Jews don't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, either."

You are absolutely right, and they missed their Messiah. I will continue to defend the Jews and Israel because God told me to do so.

I don't condemn the Jews, just as I don't condemn Hindus, Mormons, Buddhists, etc. because none of them pose a threat to the security of my family and my fellow Americans. Nevertheless, they are all deceived into believing a lie.

Sadly, I cannot say the same for many of the Islamic faith, and it's difficult to know which Muslims are peaceful and which are stealth jihadists. And most disturbing of all is the fact that there are many like you who refuse to acknowledge their threat. You are so busy defending islam, and in doing so, we become more vulnerable.

Debra, you're exactly right. Some languages, especially Semitic ones or ones with Semitic influence (Maltese for example), do use a variant of "allah" when referring to the First Person of the Trinity, God in English. I get that. What you don't get, Diogenes, is that Muslims don't hold to your view either. The Islamic confession of faith says, "there is no god but Allah and Mohommed is his prophet." They will acknowledge the existence of Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity (Isa in Arabic) but do not acknowledge His Deity. The incident in Indiana is nothing more than political correctness and appeasement run amok. Ignorant secularists think that Allah and the God of the Bible are the same, but they are not. Singing the lyric in one respect is a confession of faith for Islam. This is why my own kids don't attend public school. Finally, I would suggest looking at the reference texts. The Bible was written by 40+ people over a 1500 year span and has a unified message with no errors, including the Rapture to your annoyance. The Koran was written by one man over his single lifetime and has errors (abbrogations on their side). I appreciate your concern for my health, but I'm doing just fine.

Did you hear that the whole thing about the kid's drawing is a lie? It wasn't supposed to be a Christmas picture, and the kid didn't draw Jesus on the cross.. he drew HIMSELF on the cross -- even labelled it with his name. Also, the kid wasn't sent home or disciplined, and didn't have to undergo counseling. But -- et this -- the teacher had to be hiven police protection!
